Anna Roffey

Anna was called to the Bar in July 2014, having studied law and for the Bar whilst working full time.

Prior to pupillage, Anna enjoyed a flying career for over 20 years, and for 12 of those, was the chair/convenor of a large branch of trade union members within the same business. She has extensive industrial relations experience, and with an obvious interest and operational experience in aviation, Anna obtained further qualification in international air law/aviation regulation. She is also an independent external expert to European aviation regulator, EASA, across multiple disciplines including legal.

Anna has represented many members through grievance and disciplinary procedures. She been involved in bringing various claims on behalf of the union and its members, including injunctions, claims for detriment, discrimination, holiday pay and unfair dismissal. She has been closely involved in the ‘Aerotoxicity’ (cabin air quality) Inquests and claims, and those for pilot injury connected to exposure to ‘cosmic radiation’.

Anna is an accredited civil, commercial and workplace mediator, and since 2016, a mediation trainer and assessor with ADR Group.

She has worked as a county court advocate (for claimants and defendants) conducting in excess of 500 hearings – for civil enforcement, possession, L&T matters, return of goods, infant settlements, insolvency, small claims (consumer credit and RTA), setting aside and summary judgment.

Anna lives on a farm in Kent and shares in the care of the various rescued and re-homed animals that live there.
